Hotel Bahia del Duque Tenerife Review

The Gran Hotel Bahia del Duque is without doubt one of Tenerife's premier 5 star hotels, with its beautiful architecture inspired by late the 19th century Canary Islands.

Iberostar Grand Hotel Mencey

The Grand Hotel Mencey is Tenerife’s most iconic hotel having opened its doors in 1950 and being frequented by Royalty and the rich and famous.

Red Level at Gran Melia Palacio de Isora

Should a member of the Travel Trust Association for any reason financially fail or cease trading, the Travel Trust Association will liaise with the suppliers and Tour Operators to ensure that you holiday goes ahead unaffected. How does Travel Trust Association provide 100% financial protection for me?
Every Travel Trust Association member deposits your money into the Trust Account. A Trust Account is a bank account designated to hold the customer's money.
Your money remains in the Trust Account and is supervised by an appointed Trustee who is either a banker, chartered or certified accountant or a solicitor. Both the Travel Trust Association members AND the Trustee are required to authorise payments from the Trust Account.
In addition to being held in trust, your monies are also insured.
A Stand Alone Safe Seat Plan policy is an insurance policy which is issued on your behalf by the Travel Trust Association member. If your money is not in the Trust Account, the Stand Alone Safe Seat Plan policy will reimburse the loss of any amount paid to a Travel Trust Association member up to the value of £11,000 per passenger.
What is the difference between Travel Trust Association and ABTA?
ABTA ended its consumer promise in 2006. This means that not all of the travel arrangements that you book through an ABTA member are necessarily protected in case of the financial failure of the travel company.
You will need to ask the ABTA member how financially secure their travel arrangements are. If the arrangements are not automatically protected, the ABTA member may be able to offer suitable insurance to cover you.

Finca Las Llanadas
Finca Las Llanadas is located in rural north Tenerife high above the La Orotava valley. The finca comprises four individual detached stone walled cottages carefully restored and set in well-kept walled gardens. The houses are built in typical traditional stone Canadian style, having previously been a family run farm.
Three of the houses have one double bedroom and one other has two double bedrooms, all have a bathroom and fully equipped kitchen and lounge area.
The location of these cottages is in green country side with views down to the La Orotava valley and coast. The pine forested mountains of Tenerife dominate the sky line above the cottages with beautiful views.
The communal gardens are full of flower beds and lawns, each cottage has its own private terrace area and there is a shared BBQ area, hot tub and off road car parking.
Las Llanadas finca rural houses are classified as four Espigas by the tourist organisation ASETUR.
The location of the cottages makes them ideal for walking and a get away from it all holiday. A car is essential. The nearest town is Los Realajos about 30 minute drive, and a small store selling the very basics is a 5 minutes drive, where there is also a small restaurant and bar in the village.

Penelope Cruz Filming on Tenerife
Penelope Cruz, the Hollywood actress, is currently on Tenerife filming for her latest movie Ma Ma. The film is being shot on the streets of Granadilla de Abona and also in the hospital in Candelaria on the north eastern coast of the island.
The Spanish born actress won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the Woody Allen comedy-drama film ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ in 2008, and was again nominated in 2009 for her performance in ‘Nine’. She has also been rumoured to be appearing in the next James Bond movie.
Penelope has brought her family with her so they can enjoy a holiday together on the island while she is filming, including her Oscar winning husband a Javier Bardem and her two children. Her Sister Monica Cruz is also on Tenerife to visit Penelope, both been seen on the beaches of Tenerife this week with their families.
