PHE is a summer festival combining music, trends, culture, film, food and creation. A whole range of tempting activities to inspire an engaged and active public, a perfect schedule by the sea, and fresh and unique proposals for an inspired and current audience. The seventh edition of Phe Festival brings together an outstanding lineup of national, international and local artists during two days of concerts on Friday, August 18 and Saturday, August 19, at its usual venue, the esplanade of the pier.

The star of the show is Lenny Jay. He joined this project after spending several seasons in the successful European musical about the King of Pop, where he received praise from the Jackson family. His incredible physical and vocal resemblance makes 'This Is Michael' a unique experience, which allows us to be moved by remembering and vibrating with the eternal MJ. It should be noted that Lenny Jay was chosen by the Jackson family to star as the voice of MJ in the musical that has toured Europe and America, selling out more than 400,000 tickets over the last few years.

Also part of the show is Jennifer Batten, star guitarist who shared the stage with Jeff Beck. For 10 years and several world tours, he was Michael Jackson's guitarist, reforming the music of the King of Pop to a more rock style, where she was a fundamental part of songs such as Bille Jean, among many others.

Carnaval de verano de Puerto de la Cruz

Thousands of visitors flock to the town of Garachico to take part in one of the most authentic fiestas on the island of Tenerife. Music enlivens the pilgrimage through the streets of the town, which culminates in a beautiful maritime voyage. Early morning, pilgrims arrive at the hermitage of San Roque, and the saint's image is transferred to the Church of Santa Ana in the centre of the town, where a religious ceremony is held at midday.

At 13:00, the famous pilgrimage of San Roque begins. The image is accompanied by music bands, carts, herds, harnessed animals, rondallas and parrandas. At the same time, the fishermen of Garachico carry out the Romería Marítima, with their decorated boats accompanying the saint along the coastline.

This fiesta and pilgrimage date back to the 17th century, when the island suffered a terrible epidemic between 1601 and 1606. The main focus was located in Puerto de Garachico. However, after the sudden disappearance of the disease, the miracle was attributed to San Roque. Since then, every year, on 16th August, a pilgrimage is held in honour of the saint.

This event is within the Canary Islands VIVA project and has the support of the Canary Islands Government through the Tourism Council. The Canary Islands Viva and FAUCA project aim is to promote activities that encourage the development of Urban Areas' economy, society and culture.

Ritmos del Mundo is one of the longest-standing music festivals in the Canary Islands. This year, it will be held at Siam Park in Costa Adeje. Welcoming the latest trends in street music and the boldest genre mashups, Ritmos del Mundo is a forward-looking festival. It will feature 'Morad', a Spanish rapper of Moroccan heritage who has more than five million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Puerto de la Cruz plays host to +Q Rock, a live heavy metal music festival. First held in 2012, it has become a must event for fans of hard rock and heavy metal music on the island.

The line-up is headed by Gus G, who plays with his band Firewind after being part of groups like Ozzy Osbourne’s. There will also be concerts by the Spanish symphonic metal band Last Days Of Eden; the group resulting from the merger in 2014 of KachoKarne Mtnz and Pi2, Opereta Humanoide; the melodic death metal band The Zeronaut; and the Tenerife-based metal band Meridian Zero, among others.

Alejandro Sanz returns to Spain with a new show, SANZ EN VIVO, where he will perform his greatest hits and songs included in SANZ, his latest studio album, which entered directly at No1 in the Top 100 Albums list (Sales + Streaming) and in the Top 100 Albums and Top 100 Vinyl lists.

La Gesta 25th Julio 1797 - 2022 Conmemoración 225 Aniversario

2022 commemorates the 225th anniversary of the defeat of Nelson at the battle of Santa Cruz in 1797. The action happened 225 years ago this month when his squadron attacked Santa Cruz. This is the first time the commemorations have been held for two years due to the covid pandemic.

25 July 1797 is an important date in the history of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Today, this critical feat is commemorated with a reenactment of the naval battle in which locals and actors participate. On the 22nd Jully, members of the Nelson Society will join the events. Finally, the reenactments will take place on the 23rd, 24th and 25th, the most important day of the celebration, during which there will be acts of homage, floral offerings and surrender of honours to the fallen, as well as the traditional procession with the image of Santiago Apóstol.

It will be represented as usual by the Asociación Histórico-Cultural Gesta del 25 de julio de 1797, which is mainly dedicated to the historical recreation of this event.
