How To Get Around Tenerife By Tram
The tram is a light railway transport system run by Metropolitano de Tenerife (MTSA) owned by the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife (Tenerife's Island Government). The tram operates between the city of Santa Cruz and La Laguna.
Currently, there are two lines. Line 1 goes between Santa Cruz and La Laguna and is 12.5 km long, with 21 stops and a journey of approximately 40 minutes. Line 2 goes between La Cuesta to Tincer with plans to extend the line to La Gallega. A third line is planned to run along the coast of Santa Cruz.
Buy a ticket at ticket machines available at stops or in MTSA offices located at both ends of the line. TITSA bus services and MTSA, tram services are fully integrated transport systems, with journeys costing the same whichever service is chosen.
