On the first Sunday of August, La Esperanza celebrates a romería, and the image of the Virgin is revered in a procession through the main streets. Fiestas de Nuestra Señora de La Esperanza.

Siam Park water park is open for all the family until 24:00 for spectacular night rides at the weekends during July and August. These nights will be incredibly popular, so buy your tickets in advance.

The park organises bus pickups from the north and south of the island.

THE SUMMER THEATRE FESTIVAL. Veranos del Taoro takes advantage of the unique climatic conditions of an island of eternal spring, distinguished names of national drama and in a privileged natural environment, the Parque de la Sortija, in the Puerto de la Cruz, starting its own tradition of open-air theatre. With Veranos del Taoro, taking up the tradition of events such as the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre in London or the Shakespeare in the Park in New York, where, despite being entirely outdoors, the theatre has dressing rooms for the technical and artistic cast and the make-up department.

The Sortija Park in Puerto de la Cruz is a unique enclave in the town that will become the setting to host a series of productions that reflect the tradition of theatre in the parks of such symbolic places as London or New York.

You can enjoy the surroundings, an afternoon of varied gastronomic offerings and open-air shows for free. However, you must buy a ticket to enjoy the Laurel de Indias and Cabaret theatre.

Laurel de Indias Area, THEATRE. A large Indian laurel tree will be the setting for the main stage of Veranos del Taoro, with performances from renowned figures of the national theatre in a special area.

Arboleda Area, CABARET. An incomparable setting in the centre of which is a small stage. Garlands decorate the 50 bar tables, with a glass in hand, where the chairs are positioned to enjoy the show. Grace, wit and melodies suitable for restless minds looking for something more. This is what the CABARET area has to offer.

Tierra Area, DANCE. As close to the ground as the tabaibas that observe the bodies in movement, three contemporary dance creations, one piece each day, will begin each day's programme and opens the door to the rest of the evening.

Shows for the whole family. Laurel de Indias and TabaibasAreas. For the youngest in the family, there are two prepared recommendations, one free and the other paying.

Puerto de la Cruz plays host to +Q Rock, a live heavy metal music festival. First held in 2012, it has become a must event for fans of hard rock and heavy metal music on the island.

The line-up is headed by Gus G, who plays with his band Firewind after being part of groups like Ozzy Osbourne’s. There will also be concerts by the Spanish symphonic metal band Last Days Of Eden; the group resulting from the merger in 2014 of KachoKarne Mtnz and Pi2, Opereta Humanoide; the melodic death metal band The Zeronaut; and the Tenerife-based metal band Meridian Zero, among others.

Ritmos del Mundo is one of the longest-standing music festivals in the Canary Islands. This year, it will be held at Siam Park in Costa Adeje. Welcoming the latest trends in street music and the boldest genre mashups, Ritmos del Mundo is a forward-looking festival. It will feature 'Morad', a Spanish rapper of Moroccan heritage who has more than five million monthly listeners on Spotify.

La Gesta 25th Julio 1797 - 2022 Conmemoración 225 Aniversario

2022 commemorates the 225th anniversary of the defeat of Nelson at the battle of Santa Cruz in 1797. The action happened 225 years ago this month when his squadron attacked Santa Cruz. This is the first time the commemorations have been held for two years due to the covid pandemic.

25 July 1797 is an important date in the history of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Today, this critical feat is commemorated with a reenactment of the naval battle in which locals and actors participate. On the 22nd Jully, members of the Nelson Society will join the events. Finally, the reenactments will take place on the 23rd, 24th and 25th, the most important day of the celebration, during which there will be acts of homage, floral offerings and surrender of honours to the fallen, as well as the traditional procession with the image of Santiago Apóstol.

It will be represented as usual by the Asociación Histórico-Cultural Gesta del 25 de julio de 1797, which is mainly dedicated to the historical recreation of this event.
