Two of Tenerife’s top hotels have won awards this year in the ‘World Luxury Hotel Awards’ held at a gala awards ceremony in South Africa. The World Luxury Hotel and Spa Awards are accepted as the pinnacle of achievement for luxury and spa hotels across the world, and were established as a celebration of the ultimate achievement for excellent service.
The awards are based on the votes cast by hotel guests on the facilities and service excellence and is aimed at encouraging hotels to raise service standards within the luxury hotel industry. These awards are exclusive to luxury hotels, lodges and resorts and do not include any other areas of the travel industry.
The World Luxury Hotel Awards™ is regarded the highest accolade that a hotel can receive within the global luxury hotel industry.
The 5 star Hotel Bahia del Duque located in Costa Adeje on Tenerife’s south coast won the ‘Europe Luxury Villa Resort’ category award, and is widely recognised as one of the most luxurious hotels on Tenerife. Past guests include Maria Carey, Michael Schumacher and Elton John to name but a few.
The other Tenerife hotel to win an award is the 5 star Hotel Botanico in Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife’s north coast. The hotel won the country award for the best ‘Luxury Spa Hotel’ in Spain. The hotel Botanico is also recognised as one of the islands most luxurious hotels, one of its famous guests includes Michael Jackson who stayed here in 1993 during his ‘Dangerous World Tour’.
