Unexpected Party Night in Las Caletillas

Unexpected Party Night in Las Caletillas

Left Icod to travel to Las Caletillas, we have stayed here before, and like it. The promenade reminds me of Worthing in , can be windy here. There is a good selection of restaurants along the seafront, is more Spanish than touristy, which we prefer.

I am not going to recommend the Hotel we are in, it is tired looking and stuck in a bit of a time warp from the seventies. However we are here for a reason to visit the pyramids which are in a nearby town. We know the Hotel from one of our trips, and saw a deal to stay for £32 per night for the two of us with breakfast. Back home think I would get onto the Washington camp site for the same amount of money and that is without my sausages.

Obviously for this deal we do not have one of the better rooms, but are using it as a quick stop to see the pyramids and continue to travel back to the South. I will refer to this Hotel as Hotel Flip flop.

We went out and found an unusual Bohemian bar restaurant where we were offered a bed to lie on! Had pancakes with different savoury fillings, and thought we would have an early night. Not on the bed at the bar though! Mind you it was much better than the one in our room.

Back at Hotel Flip Flop we ended up having a night cap in the Show Bar. The security guard asked us if we could finish our drinks downstairs in the disco. We were not aware there was a disco in Hotel Flip Flop. Once in the club we had another drink.
Pete came back from the bar so happy. He said ‘for once in my life I’m up on the deal, its two drinks for the price of one until 1am’.

The club was quiet, well Jane & Pete plus one other couple. The music was good and we were dancing until 3am! You never know how things are going to go when booking into a place like Hotel Flip Flop!
