Self Catering

Hope my little reports of accommodation, weather, & where to eat are of some use to those who may be thinking of holidaying in Tenerife in the future. I will tell you about our manovoures over the last 24 hrs. ! We left Hotel Marquesa to try a self-catering studio apt; we want to use Puerto de la Cruz as a base for looking around. There is a company here who have several blocks with apt (they are basic with no frills) so we left hotel life! To try Hotel Tropical (they call these apt blocks hotels) our room was spacious, & we were able to eat in there. Unfortunately had little sleep due to large noisy air conditioning pipes being right by our room. The standard overall was lower than we expected in this particular block. We had read other people’s views on this place at Booking. Com & it appeared to sound o.k. I decided I would not be able to survive on a few hours’ sleep for the next four nights, or I would grow little horns! On my head. The girl on reception was really good. A taxi was paid to take us to another of their Blocks. We are now in Hotel Casa Del Sol. Have a nice self-contained apt.This is a higher standard block, has roof top pool, sunbeds, & snack bar. Just be aware you get all sorts staying in these places. As last night we heard someone doing some very strange chanting!
