Santa Cruz

Walked along promenade with the busy Santa Cruz port to our left, so lots to see. I noticed the promenade was tree lined with luscious green trees. Some of the trees had bright orange flowers, which reminded me I was away from England’s winter.

Santa Cruz is a busy city with lots of Al Fresco eating going on. A day is enough to cover points of interest .We decided to use our time to go to the museum.  If you are interested in the Canary Islands and some history, this truly is good value. Cost is 3 Euros per person, allow a good couple of hours if you want to see it all. Has a nice coffee shop again not expensive, makes a change from the U.K. (where we feel Dick Turpin! is at work.)

One of the most interesting exhibitions is the collection of Guanche Mummies. I looked into the history of the Guanche people when in Candalaria. If you want to find out about these mysterious people go to etenerifeholidays.co.uk and read my write up on The Guanche people by Jane the Tourist.
