The Life Guards of Tenerife Have Not Been Paid for 3 Months

The life guards on the beaches of Tenerife are not happy, they haven’t been paid for a few months. This one was protesting in Playa de las Americas. It seems the company who employs them has gone bust.

The contract for the life guards was put out to tender by Arona council 3 years ago and was awarded to ‘Sport and Salvament’, a company from Catalonia. Arona council say they have more important things needing their help.
