Goodbye Hotel Jardine Tropical

Goodbye Hotel Jardine Tropical

It is Monday morning, we are checking out of the Jardine Tropical. Now travelling north, have just booked  B&B in Garachico. We will travel by bus; the journey will take about an hour and half.

It makes me laugh the way we get on the buses with all our luggage, people always look at us. Tourists do use the public transport, but not like we do with all our suitcases. The cases go into luggage holders on the side of the bus, when getting off you have to be a quick on retrieving your luggage as the drivers want to get going.

Garachico is a coastal village and a tranquil place to stay. I found a 16th century Rural Hotel which is in the main village square. We are very pleased with our accommodation at La Quinta Roja Hotel. I have put up a picture of the welcoming entrance to the Hotel.

Last night was a warm evening and we sat in the square, where all the locals meet, Pete had beer and I love the Barraquito special coffee with liqueur. I would like Costa to make them in Worthing!

Have put a photo of the square last night, a group of local people who belong to the red cross had got together with a large coloured flag.

We had our meal in a restaurant in the square, and I decided to try Goat Stew. If you like goats cheese the meat has a similar flavour with the texture being just like lamb.

By 10pm we were in bed I had my Prima magazine to read and foot massage to do!  Pete had work to catch up on. We are grateful Garachico is a chill sort of place, as we have worn ourselves out in Las Americas.
