A Visit to the Pyramids of Guimar

While staying at Candelaria we took the bus to Guimar to have a look at the Pyramids of Guimar. You pay to go in the park area to look at these strange structures which some believed were used for sun worship. At the entrance you can buy different programs depending what you want to see.

We walked around the beautifully kept park area to view the pyramid complex. There are picnic areas, with the odd chicken scuttling around. Funny enough I did take a small picnic, I never travel without essential supplies! The whole place is kept really clean, there is a small children’s playground, and the views from here are panoramic.

We had access to the Auditorium to see a short documentary which is very interesting. Enjoyed our afternoon here, depending what you are interested in I would recommend a visit. Take plenty of water and high factor sun cream as it can get very hot when walking around.  Before we left had a drink in the cafeteria and visited the gift shop.
