El Barranco del Infierno

The Barranco del Infierno is a popular and faily easy hike along a gorge. There are no rivers on Tenerife, but water drains away to the sea after rain fall down one of the islands many barrancos (gullies). This particular barranco got its name during the Spanish Civil War, as it was the site of many executions.

The Barranco del Infierno is closed to the public as it is considered to be unsafe
