Costa del Silencio, meaning the silent coast, is a small modern resort situated on the tip of Tenerife's south coast. The resort is built mainly of residential houses, apartments and hotels. This part of Tenerife enjoys lots of sunshine all year round. Compared to the larger resorts on the south coast of Tenerife, it is relatively quiet here.

The small fishing village of Las Galletas is a short walk away with excellent restaurants on the seafront pedestrian promenade.

Costa del Silencio Beaches

Costa del Silencio is not a big beach resort, but a couple of small beaches are a short walk away at Las Galletas. Playa Las Galletas, a black volcanic shingle beach, is the biggest and protected from the Atlantic swell by the sea wall, shielding a small number of fishing boats and private motor cruisers.

Local surfers and bodyboarders meet to ride the Atlantic waves in the evenings at a tiny unprotected beach. With a very rugged and rocky coastline, the nearest sandy beaches to Costa del Silencio are in the larger resorts of Playa de las Americas, Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje 15km away. Nightlife in Costa del Silencio consists of restaurants and bars, some hosting live music, and whatever the Costa del Silencio resort hotels have for entertainment. Excellent restaurants, bars and cafes line the seafront promenade at nearby Las Galletas. The restaurants serve freshly caught fish every day.
